PRESS RELEASE: SEPTEMBER 11, 2025, PHILIP GOLDSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

At approximately 10:35 a.m. on Wednesday, September 10th, Air Traffic Control at P.G.I.A. was informed of the diversion of a Delta flight #1782 in a B737-800 from Atlanta, Georgia, USA to San Pedro Sula, Honduras due to problems with the right (#2) engine.

On board the aircraft were 162 passengers and six crew members.

A full emergency response was activated prior to the aircraft landing safely and without any further incident at 10:52 a.m.

Once the aircraft parked in stand #10, all passengers and crew deplaned and were escorted into the Departure Lounge, where they waited for another Delta aircraft to arrive and to be taken to San Pedro Sula later in the afternoon.

No injuries to passengers and crew were reported and the aircraft remains at the P.G.I.A. for further inspection and repairs.

We are grateful to all the numerous agencies and personnel who responded to the emergency.
