JOB DESCRIPTION:
Receptionist
A Receptionist is required at the Philip Goldson International Airport for managing the switchboard, for providing administrative and clerical support, and reports to the Manager of Finance & Administration. The receptionist is a problem-solver; uses good initiative and judgment; is innovative and makes suggestions or recommendations for improvement and efficiency; works with minimum supervision; strives for excellent customer satisfaction; is supportive and interacts well with co-workers to meet targets; promotes a positive work environment; respects co-workers; is always punctual for work; and volunteers to work extra hours.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Answering, screening and directing incoming calls to BA.C.C. personnel, various government agencies, airlines and other airport operators
Answering or directing queries to the Manager of Operations, appropriate persons, departments, airlines.
Taking messages for Managers.
- Maintaining radio contact with Managers and Supervisors.
- Providing clerical assistance to members of management and staff.
- Preparing and maintaining security and airport vehicle passes and audit reports for the Airport Security Pass system.
- Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date filing system.
- Making announcements over the Public Address (PA) system.
- Activating the Emergency Alert System for the Philip W. S. Goldson International Airport (PGIA).
- Activating Lightening Risk Warnings.
- Performing Cashier duties for specific category of payments.
- Entering statistical information on arriving passengers daily.
- Reporting to the airport immediately in the event of an airport emergency or a natural disaster.
- Performing any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate Degree with a minimum of 1 year’s working experience. Possesses excellent Public Relations skills, good command of the English language, is computer literate and able to work on weekends and holidays. The ability to speak other languages is an asset.
Remuneration:
Commensurate with qualifications, skills and experience.
